Preparing Presentation Slide + Design

We had another group discussion, at Barbican Centre, as our final meeting together to design, organise and rehearse our slides presentation for Tuesday. We also aimed to compile and discuss our written text on the same day.

We can think how QR-code (Quick-Response code) connected with information can be applied in our garden. Nowadays, smart phone is equipped with the function of scanning QR code so as to get further information.

During our group meeting, we came up with ideas of how our Herbs + Mushrooms garden structures will be presented. We were thinking of creating the garden space that people can interact with the structures and movable within the space at the same time making a playful environment. Credits to one of our group member, Chueh Ying-Lee, who drew the sketches as shown on this post, in order to convey our group ideas visually.

The Union Street Urban Orchard

The project was orchestrated by Heather Ring of the Wayward Plant Registry and The Architecture Foundation, and opened in July 2010 as part of the London Festival of Architecture. Green City Rooftops

Brooklyn Grange is a commercial organic farm located on New York City rooftops. They grow vegetables in the city and sell them to local people and businesses. Their goal is to improve access to very good food, to connect city people more closely to farms and food production, and to make urban farming a viable enterprise and livelihood.

Abbey Gardens - What will the harvest be?

This morning our group and the rest of the MA technonatures visited a food growing site located in West Ham within London borough of Newham. It is a garden where anyone can come and join, learn how to grow and harvest organic vegetables, fruit and flowers. Basically this green garden is a community garden. It was amazing to see various of fruits and vegetables are growing.

Sketches of Proposal Sites

The fieldwork which was successfully accomplished yesterday, gives us an initial start to be close and familiar with each other ways of doing work. We started at 10:00am in the studio with our group discussion based on individual readings about green urban. Roughly around 11:00am, we began our fieldwork. However, before we decided the final site, we explored five areas within Goldsmiths campus which we thought the most suitable and feasible area to develop our Green Garden Proposal. Despite the depressing weather, we managed to get them all done before dawn. As you can see, I have posted sketches of the five chosen sites that we all picked and I drew them during our fieldwork.

What's our next plan team - shall we have a discuss which site is the most preferable?  ^__^
